SULTAN ANIMAL CONTROL

Draft Animal Control Ordinance (as of Sept. 27, 2007 council meeting)
Although all current council members have been supportive of executing an animal ordinance and hiring an animal control enforcement person, councilmembers Steve Slawson and Kristina Blair have been the strongest supporters.

Here's another reason why an Animal Control ordinance is needed in Sultan:
One person's story of senseless animal cruelty

Note: Cruelty to Pets (i.e., taKing, concealing, injuring, killing, etc.) is a Class C Felony (RCW 9.08.070). Animal cruelty in the first degree is also a Class C felony (RCW 16.52.205). Maximum sentences for Class C felonies: "Confinement in a state correctional institution for fice years, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of $10,000, or by both such confinement and fine." (RCW 9A.20.021)
