  • Genevive Jelinek re safety issues (File B-1, 588 kb)
  • Loretta Storm - Re New Administrator Knight; newly-announced "Sultan Market" proposal, but dismaying public participation. (File B-2, 453 kb)
  • Gerry Gibson - Re SPD; citizen's distrust of city hall officials ; poor communicaiton issues; city needs to issue proper stats re SPD peformance (which he knows to be good) (File B-3, 429 kb)
  • Jeffrey Beeler - Re mess on Sultan Basin Rd.(SBR)/TR and lack of code enforcement there; especially at the top with potholes and bare gravel/earth with no pavement; also safety problems with snow clearing; needs to be a better job. (File B-4, 784 kb)
  • Kerry Ourada - Does not agree with $9,000 for lobbyist when city supposedly cannot pay for police; sthocked to learn of the proposed Sultan Market project and total lack of public advisement which "speaks volumes" about how Sultan operates. (File B-5, 448 kb)

DISCUSSION (Requested by Derek Boyd) - Subject - City's budgetary constraints to maintain police department.

Dave Wood, Director of the VOA; Gerry Gibson re WWTP issues; Traci Ourada re City responsibility re SPD budget accountability; Storm's response to C/M Blair's complaint that SPD $52,000 budget amendment for extra officers came as a surprise, was council's responsibility (for letting SPD Levels of service fall too low, for not requesting reports from city finance dept., etc.) and criticism for lack of city initiative in seeking/finding grants for police services, while going all-out for taxpayer money to "grow" new homes.
