PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY

(Audio File J, 4:43 min., 832 kb) JEAN ROBERTS (re transparency in government; thanks to D. Knight for vision in organizing and publishing council committee meetings and council calendar); LORETTA STORM re open committee meetings, thanks to C/M Wiediger for serving as Library Board's council liaison (stated she would have recommended Champeaux but didn't think he liked to read that much); stressed the significant problems with sediment runoff from the Sultan Basin Road flowing into Wagley (for several months).

COUNCILMEMBER RESPONSE TO PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS (Audio file K, 3:33 min., 627 kb)

  • Boyd; Feels portion of Public Works committee meetings dealing with people's leaks needs to be kept private, but having rest of it open to the public is good idea.
  • Champeaux: Said Loretta's "shot"(re library board) woke him right up.
  • Slawson: Council was also instrumental in urging more transparence and specifically more town meetings.
  • Weidiger: Said it's developer's responsibility to protect the creek, not a city problem.

NOTES ON OUR DIGITAL RECORDING AND FILES:

  • This audio is accurate and complete. However, we urge that people contact the City directly to obtain the final agenda, and certified minutes, ordinances, resolutions or other documents: City Clerk Laura Koenig 360-793-2231. If you receive the automated message, you can bypass it and go directly to her voicemail by pressing "2" and then the pound (#) sign.
  • As of the October 26, 2006 council meeting, the city began recording meetings using a Morantz MP3 digital recorder, which has records directly from the microphones to the recorder, thus, clearly than the audio we present here, with is captured from "room" sound from a microphone located near the podium. If you wish to secure a copy of the City's audio, contact Clerk Koenig.
  • All of our digital audio files are in MP3 format, playable on Windows Mediaplayer or other MP3-compatible digital device
