SULTAN CITY COUNCIL MEETING
319 MAIN STREET
April 10, 2008

6:00 PM - Caleb Court Closed Record Hearing (Document/info re PUD Plat, 2.3 mb pdf) - We did not attend this hearing, thus, no audio is available on our website.]

7:00 PM CALL TO ORDER ( Audio A, 4:12 min., 742 kb):

  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Roll Call (all C/M present except Dale Doornek. Mayor Carolyn Eslick absent, her second missed meeting in succession. Dale Doornek requested excused absences for both the 4/10 and 4/24 meetings because of work conflicts (see Consent agenda item below), but he also did not attend the 3/27 council meeting. The council granted him an excused absence for that meeting as well, even though no reason was given to the public.
  • Changes to agenda - None [However, it was noted the council had an executive session prior to the council meeting's start, which was not advertised, and no subject/purpose was given, as required by state law.]

PRESENTATIONS (Audio of statement included in above Audio File A) - Rather than a "presentation," it is more accurate to state that there was an introduction of the members of the Sultan Library Board, and a photo op was allowed. (We did not post "audio" of photo op as no audible comments were made/heard.)

NOTES ON OUR DIGITAL RECORDING AND FILES:

  • This audio is accurate and complete. However, we urge that people contact the City directly to obtain the final agenda, and certified minutes, ordinances, resolutions or other documents: City Clerk Laura Koenig 360-793-2231. If you receive the automated message, you can bypass it and go directly to her voicemail by pressing "2" and then the pound (#) sign.
  • As of the October 26, 2006 council meeting, the city began recording meetings using a Morantz MP3 digital recorder, which has records directly from the microphones to the recorder, thus, clearly than the audio we present here, with is captured from "room" sound from a microphone located near the podium. If you wish to secure a copy of the City's audio, contact Clerk Koenig.
  • All of our digital audio files are in MP3 format, playable on Windows Mediaplayer or other MP3-compatible digital device
