City of Sultan Minutes - General Sewer Plan Hearing

The public hearing on the General Sewer Plan called to order in the Sultan Community Center by Mayor Tolson. Councilmembers present: Wiediger, Slawson, Flower, Blair and Boyd.

There were no objections to the Council participation.

Staff:

Connie Dunn, Public Works Director and John Wilson, BHC, briefly discussed Amendment #1 to the General Sewer Plan that changes the ERU's (Equivalent residential units) and population projections based on information received from Snohomish County and the pending plat applications. The sewer population numbers will be smaller as there is no requirement for residents on septic systems to connect to the sewer system.

Public Input [G.R.I.T. COMMENT; This is public testimony, not "input"]

Josie Fallgatter: Asked if the new projects take into account potential economic development and build out in the Industrial Park and does the information change the financial chapter.

John Wilson, BHC, advised that there is an allowance for industrial development. The financial chapter may need to be revised after the facility plan is completed but not as part of the general amendment. Brief discussion was held on commercial development and the impacts to the plan.

On a motion by Councilmember Boyd, seconded by Councilmember Flower, the public hearing was closed.
