Photo: Tom Beckwith, Comp Plan Consultant, responds to questions from residents; about 30 people participated, mostly folks with ties to the city or economic interests. Notable in thier absence were Sultan residents who have been quite vocal about the way things have been done in the past. This workshop was a perfect environment for makig a constructive difference in our future. There will be more opportunities, as the comp plan enters the more formal EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) phase, and we hope ALL Sultan residents will participate and give feedback.

REMEMBER: The only time your voice doesn't count is when you don't use it.

PROPOSED TRANSPORTATION PLAN (as of 3-26-02): Please note all the blue dotted lines. These are proposed new roads. Something to keep uppermost in our minds as we go through this process is that they ALL lead to Route 2...

CRITICAL AREAS OF SULTAN (as shown in the comp plan as of 3-26-02)

OPEN SPACE AS CURRENTLY SHOWN ON PLAN (as of 3-26-02): Note that "green" space in the plan corresponds almost perfectly with the critical areas. this is still subject to change and further review during the EIS process phase.

CRTICIAL AREAS LAYOUT IN THE INDUSTRIAL AREA (LID 97-1):
Note the land-locked aspect, critical slopes (15-40% or more) on the north side, Route 2 on the south side, and the "industrial" area and wetlands and ESA stream buffers in the middle.
