FOR MAYOR: This is a trick question, right? We can't believe Mayor Rowe made the decision to run again.

Ben Tolson is the clear choice, Based on his interviews and responses to questions in the Dutch Cup/Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum, as well as our interview with him. Mr. Tolson is super smart, ethical, fair, has a true vision for Sultan (over and above economic development), eloquent and honest.

FOR COUNCIL POS. 5: Although Jim Flower is intelligent, a local business owner and has some good ideas, his public comments on Wagley Creek (dubbing it a nuisance "drainage ditch" and recommending that it be re-routed eastward to the Wallace River), is reason enough for any thinking voter to sidestep him. We pick Dick -- who is not only intelligent and has some terrificly creative ideas -- he is also a small business owner (like Jim), and has been a constant and tireless contributor to almost any "lost" cause that folks bring to him. Even more important is John's devotion to Sultan -- he truly and deeply cares about the people here and Sultan's future. We believe him to be a true man of the people. But more than anything else, we favor John because we know him to be a moral and ethical person who will represent all Sultan residents, not just the developers' interests in town.

When making your choice on Tuesday, September 16th, ask yourself this question: "Isn't it past time for Sultan to have accountable, professional -- and perhaps most important -- ethical -- leadersip?"

Ray Kistenmacher and Loretta Storm offered these recommendations, 33520 - 116th Street S.E., Sultan, WA 98294
