SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING NOTICE

TO TAKE ACTION REGARDING PERS, TO SET POLICY COVERING CITY ATTORNEY USAGE AND REQUEST BIDS FOR ATTORNEY SERVICES

Monday, April 10th, 2006 at 8 AM

The City Council of the City of Gold Bar will hold a Special Council Meeting on Monday, April 10th, 2006, in the City Hall Council Chambers, starting at 8 AM.  If the Council Chambers for some reason are not available the meeting will convene at a venue to be decided upon by a majority of the Council present. The purpose of the meeting is as follows:

1.)        [Audio file of first portion of this agenda item, 1 mb] Make a final decision on PERS and take appropriate action. This may include but is not limited to discussing and passing a resolution to negate actions taken and resolutions passed by previous Council as well as those taken by the current Council; potentially discussing and taking action on a motion to specify a buy back option; [Audio file re second portion of this agenda item, 194 kb] providing direction to the City Attorney regarding PERS and requesting legal action to uphold any final decision by the Council as well as to negate any actions taken by Staff and\or the Mayor.

2.)     [Audio file, 417 kb] Discuss and potentially officially request a bid and necessary paperwork from various Law Firms to replace the current City Attorney.

3.)        [Audio file, 412 kb] Set general policy regarding City Attorney usage and take action on the City Attorney contract. This may include but is not limited to granting the City Attorney permission to work on specific tasks and only those tasks or may even include a request for the termination of the contract with the current City Attorney.

The public is encouraged to attend the Special Council Meeting but the Council will NOT be setting aside time for public comment.
