RESOLUTION NO. _______________

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOLD BAR, WASHINGTON, TO ESTABLISH A REGULAR SATURDAY COUNCIL MEETING STARTING AT 9:30 AM IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS.

 

WHERE AS, the Council has expressed a desire to prepare the preliminary agendas to its meetings,

 

WHERE AS, this will require consensus from a majority of the City Council,

 

WHERE AS, the Open Public Meeting Act requires nearly all government business to be done in a public meeting with notification given to the citizens; NOW THEREFORE,

 

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOLD BAR, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1.        All preparations be made including proper notice given to the public so that the City Council will be able to meet regularly each Saturday at City Hall at 9:30 am starting January 7th, 2006 for the purpose of discussing items that the Council wishes to place on its agenda for any future Council meeting.

 

Section 2.        This meeting will have the following attendance requirements:

 

  1. The Mayor, City Clerk or other City staff members are not required to attend unless needed to grant access to the building itself.
  2. Each Council Member is not required to attend this meeting and if he\she is absent he\she will be automatically excused from the meeting.

 

Section 3.        Since it is not expected that all Council Members will regularly attend this meeting because it is on Saturday which is typically reserved for personal matters, no final action will be taken at these meetings on resolutions or ordinances unless either one of the following is satisfied

 

A.                   All Council Members are present

B.                   Those Council Members not present grant permission to allow final action to be taken. This permission must be in written form and available at the Saturday meeting.

 

Section 4.        If for whatever reason the Council Chambers are not available when a majority of Council has arrived they may call the meeting to order outside of chambers for the sole purpose of setting a different meeting place so long as that meeting place is open to the public and posted to the Council Chamber’s outside door typically used for accessing Council Meetings.
