65 residents crowded into Sultan's community center to meet with Cisar re 22-lot Ramirez PUD proposal

An overflow crowd of Over 65 residents of Dyer Rd. & Skywall Dr. flooded into city hall Mon., 2/13 to meet with City Admin. Rick Cisar and Public Works Dir. Connie Dunn. Jim McDaniel**, Ramirez's development ramrod for this plat, was on hand.

The goal of this meeting was for residents to have questions answered regarding the proposed 22-unit Ramirez property on Skywall Drive, as well as find out how and why Sultan's comp plan shows a sewer line down the middle of Dyer Rd., as well as a new "connector" road that would forever link the residents of the now-separate residential areas of Skywall Dr. and Dyer Rd. into a single community. Dyer Road resident Gerry Gibson was the mover-and-shaker for this meeting, going door-to-door to advise his neighbors of both the Ramirez proposal and the water/sewer/road Comp Plan "improvements," of which they were unaware and do not want.

Based on previous discussions Mr. Gibson has had with Mr. Cisar and other city hall staffers, they have no knowledge of how or why these items were included in Sultan's Comp Plan and did not even realize this was so until Gibson asked them for information. After hearing the residents' input about this connector road, Mr. Cisar first promised to initiate a petition for a Comp Plan amendment to remove the road, and present it for the council's review (MP3 audio file, 67 kb), but later retracted his statement saying the citizens needed to submit the petition. The residents stated they knew nothing of the road/water/sewer plans contained in Sultan's comp plan, despite Cisar's assurance that they were all legally notified (MP3 audio file, 420 kb).

**Mr. McDaniel has been around Sultan a long time. He was a key player in the Boucher SP appeal hearing process.

LEGAL Notice of Application for Twin River Estates (Jan. 12, 2006) - 22 S.F. homes south of Foundry Drive and the RR tracks) by Dan Ramirez. A map of the location of this development is part of this file. This information has been presented in pdf only as the city has once again decided to withhold distribution of its legal notices from us. This proposed development will require an amendment to Sultan's CP and CFP because the the owner/developer must have a sewer line approved and installed underneath the BNSF railroad tracks to his property, paid by him personally, as stated publicly in at least two public meetings by Mr. Cisar. Of course, that "requirement"/information is not contained within this Legal Notice. (This could get interesting....)
