Isn't this worth another $100,000 on the price of a house? And couldn't the City put that extra revenue to good use?

Here's the math: At the city's current levy rate per thousand dollars ($1.57 per $1,000 assessed value), that $100,000 increase would
add another $157 per home.

Doesn't sound like much. But multiply that times the 80-some homes approved under the preliminary plat, and the additional
annual amount paid to the city for this development alone is another $12,560. While not exactly a bonanza, as the city climbs its way out of its
current fiscal financial hole, every little bit helps; plus, it needs to start thinking "outside" of its black hole box.

It is way, way past time for Sultan to plan and revise its codes to allow it to maximize one of its greatest resources: its location-location-location.
Sultan has unique natural resources and an environment most city-folk would drool over. The City needs to attract "estate"-type housing rather
t than continuing to build more infrastructure-sucking lower-end homes.
