Board Call-to-action Posting FROM
STUMP THUMBERS 4x4 CLUB NEWSLETTER: Vol. 15, No. 4
Excerpt: “PNW meeting-April
21, 2004 Land Issues: Chuck Cowan discussed
Wild Sky and it is still alive, but is stalled in committee.
He urged people to write to George
Nethercutt about this issue as he is on the fence regarding Wild
Sky. Chuck also discussed
a website that Ed Hussman has put together on the issue. The
web address is: WWW.Forestsforpeople..com.
One last Wild Sky comment, apparently some group has purchased some land right
in the middle of the proposed Wild Sky Wilderness area. Apparently
the thinking is if the
bill passes, then the government is forced to buy this person out. The
group paid approx. $50,000
for the land and could extort as much as $2 million from the government
if successful. Otherwise
they threaten to helicopter the building materials to the site and start
building.” Vol. 15, No. 7 Excerpt (September 2004): “Region Reports: Letter
writing campaign: Remember Wild
Sky Letters” And “PNW4WDA
Fall Delegates Meeting - September 11, 2004 Ed Hussman was a guest speaker and discussed Wild Sky
Wilderness proposal. If you have
been paying attention at all to any of the publications and websites
on this issue, Ed did not provide any new information.” FROM
